The Future of Glam: Met Gala ’16 Beauty RoundupMay 3, 2016 3:58 pm
Last night, we learned “technology” means different things to different people.
In the opinion of Zac Posen and Claire Danes, it means a custom fiber optic woven organza ballgown that transforms into a luminous silhouette in darkness.
To Kanye West, it means colored contacts.
(He probably borrowed them from his sister-in-law.)
Karolina Kurkova also wore a light-up gown (seriously, when can we start buying LED dresses at the mall?) that took fashion tech to a new level- the garment was a collaboration between Marchesa and the innovative IBM technology, Watson.
Cutting-edge fashion obviously calls for next-level hair and makeup, and the stars of the Gala did not disappoint. The Witch Lips were rep’d hard (called it) by everyone from Madonna to Emma Stone. Zendaya proved old can become new again with a sleek bowl cut, a phrase I truly never imagined uttering in my lifetime.
Willow Smith made us proud with statement eye sequins, while Gigi Hadid made us question why anyone would spend $2k on a manicure.
