How much do you love your hair? We hope a lot. We love ours for its expression — we get to change it, style it, and play with it to project what we want the world to know. Whether it’s long and luxurious, big and bold, or up in a bun, it’s saying something. What about yours?

This Charity Day, your hair can say something bigger. Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that provides hair pieces for children who’ve lost their hair to medical conditions. They accept donations, so consider getting yourself a big (as in meaningful) cut.

Here are the requirements:

  1. At least 10 inches in length (when cut). Curly hair should meet this length when pulled straight, and layered hair should reach this length with its longest layer.
  2. No bleach or highlights. Colored, dyed, and permed hair is okay.
  3. Completely dry hair.

Ask your hair cutter or stylist to pull your hair back into a ponytail and cut above the elastic. Place it in a sealed plastic bag and mail to:

Then, style your short new ‘do and spread the word!
